Issue/Introduction
You will get error similar to below:
There are insufficient CPU resources to complete the operation. Please contact the System Administrator
Environment
10.x
Cause
The OrgVDC is overcommitted with CPU reservation. However, this will happens for memory too when it is overcommitted.
Resolution
Step 1: Resource pool and allocation details:
Navigate to OrgVDC in your provider and click Resource pool as shown below:
Make a note of Resource pool under Name column. example: res_org (####)
Now click Allocation and then click Edit
Make a note of the value in CPU Quota field, like below:
Let us assume the CPU quota configured with 980 GHz
Step 2: Reservation verification from Vcenter:
Copy the Name in search window of Vcenter and identify the Org
Click the Resource pool res_org (####)
Click "Action" in resource pool and then Edit Resource Settings
Click Reservation under CPU section, verify the maximum allowed reservation value example: 900 GHz
Note:
From step1 we captured the CPU quota value which is 980 GHz whereas the maximum reservation allowed in the VCenter is 900 GHz from step2 where 80 GHz is more than allowed reservation. So, we get insufficient CPU resource error.
Workaround:
Navigate to VCloud and then to OrgVDC,
Click Allocation and then click Edit
Modify the CPU quota value less than 900GHz (value taken from step2) then try to delete network pool.
