Issue/Introduction

  • There are active sync tasks associated with replicated virtual machines and the replicator managing these replications is placed in maintenance mode.
  • Replicator successfully enters maintenance mode, however status of VM replication changes to  error 'Target path is not found' state.
  • In '/var/log/vmware/hbrsrv.log' of VMware Cloud Director Availability appliance, you see errors similar to the following:

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability

Cause

This issue occurs when the replicator is placed in maintenance mode when there are active tasks associated with it.

Resolution

VMware Cloud Director Availability replicator should not be placed in maintenance mode when there are active tasks associated with them.

  • Before placing the replicator into maintenance mode, ensure all active synchronization tasks (both automatic and manual) are paused.
  • If there are any test failover actions in progress, ensure they are cleaned up before moving the replicator into maintenance mode.
