How to import CABI contents from 3.x to 4.1 SP3?

Issue/Introduction

Question:

How to migrate CABI data from 3.x to 4.1 SP3 by Upgrade Management Tool? 

 

Answer:

NOTE: You need to export CABI 3.x contents by Import Wizard to create *.biar file before you import them to 4.1 SP3. 

 

1) Go to CA > CA Business Intelligence 4.1 > Upgrade Management Tool. 

2) Select <Complete Upgrade> or <Incremental Upgrade> and click <Next>. 

If you select <Complete Upgrade>, all contents in BIAR file will be imported. Whereas, if you select <Incremental Upgrade>, you can select objects you would like to import. In this example, <Complete Upgrade> is selected.

3) Select "BIAR to Live" from 'Upgrade Scenario' and select BIAR file as a source. 

Type CMS Name, User name and password as Destination and click <Next>.

4) Click on <Start> to start to import the contents. After contents are imported, please check if reports are displayed without a problem.

NOTE: If BOXI Administrator password is not same between old and new servers, you will not be able to log into BOXI server using administrator account. Please set the same password between the servers before you start to import, or reset the Administrator password by following the technical document TEC1501374.
