Cannot browse a folder in Data Store / Can not register VM (Pivot3 vSTAC Appliance)

Issue/Introduction

Cannot browse particular directories or register the VMs in those directories, but you can browse other directories in the same datastore when using a Pivot3 vSTAC Appliance HCI deployment.  

You see the following messaging in the vmkernel.log for the PIV_SATP_VSTAC driver

Resolution

The Pivot3 vSTAC Appliance is a HCI deployment, It combines compute, storage, and networking into a single, integrated system. As the deployment is complex and none standard please reach out to Vendor to address backing storage issues.
