Why can't I change or find the Idle timeout and Maximum timeout settings in the SiteMinder Federation Partnership settings for a 3rd party product on the SP side?

Issue/Introduction

Why can't I change or find the Idle timeout and Maximum timeout settings in the SiteMinder Federation Partnership settings for a 3rd party product on the SP side?

Cause

Each side, IDP or SP, maintains their own session settings independently and does not allow for the other side to control it.

Resolution

There are no such parameters for Legacy Federation or Federation Partnership configurations. The Idle timeout and Maximum timeout settings would be set on the 3rd party product side, not under the session settings in the realm or in the Federation Partnership.
