Error "Timed out. at com.vmware.vcloud.fabric.storage.storedVm.impl.CreateVmSnapshotActivity" while creating a snapshot with memory in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• There are instances where VMware Cloud Director will timeout waiting on vCenter whilst performing a create "snapshot with memory" operation.
• In vCenter when checking the status of the snapshot task for the VM in question.
  The task was canceled by a user. The operation was cancelled by the user. An error occurred while taking a snapshot: Cancelled. An error occurred while saving snapshot file.
• VMware Cloud Director task shows as failed with time out error and below debug information:
  com.vmware.vcloud.api.presentation.service.InternalServerErrorException: Timed out. at com.vmware.vcloud.fabric.storage.storedVm.impl.CreateVmSnapshotActivity$WaitForSnapshotTaskPhase.invoke(CreateVmSnapshotActivity.java:251)
• Checking vcloud-container-debug.log in VMware Cloud Director below entries can be found:
  ####-##-## 21:04:59, 687| WARN | ####-####-####### #######-##-######-## | CreateVmSnapshotActivity- Handle: urn:uuid: ########-####-####-####-############ || #######-######-########-####-### | CreateVmSnapshotActivity [Activity Execution] Timed out while waiting for snapshot creation. Waited 1,200 seconds for the snapshot task to complete 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This occurs as the task takes way longer than the pre-defined timeouts (1200 seconds) on VMware Cloud Director.

Resolution
