Issue/Introduction

Unable create New Provider vDC as the registered vCenter is not listed.

NOTE: The corresponding vCenter is registered and connected at the vSphere resources and DRS is enabled at the vCenter.

Environment

10.6.1

Cause

This issue is observed when we have the Tenant Access Enabled while adding the vCenter server instance at the Infrastructure Resource configuration.

Example:

Resolution

  1. While adding vCenter in the vCloud director under infrastructure Resource uncheck the box enable tenant. which will enable vCenter usage as IaaS and will be able to see the vCenter in the PVDC.
  2. For an existing vCenter server instance which is configured with Tenant access enabled, please follow the instructions as mentioned below:
    • From the primary left navigation panel, select Resources, and from the page top navigation bar, select Infrastructure Resources.
    • Select the corresponding vCenter Radio button
    • Click on Disable Tenant Access and click OK.

- Create the New Provider VDC and you should have the corresponding vCenter server to provide resource pools for the Provider VDC.
