Data Loss Prevention Core Package

Issue/Introduction

You plan to upgrade the operating system Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, i.e. from version 7.x to 9.x, on the server where Oracle Server 19c is installed and where DLP database is hosted. You are seeking advice on the necessary steps to take from a DLP (Data Loss Prevention) and Oracle perspective during this upgrade.

Environment

DLP 16.1 with database hosted on Oracle Server 19c and RHEL OS

Resolution

Operating system upgrades are outside the scope of Broadcom Support.

However, as a best practice, we advise you to back up your system and shut down the DLP services on Enforce, as well as the DLP database listener on the Oracle Server. Please follow the upgrade guide from Linux support, and take note of all package pre-requisites for an Oracle 19c installation on RHEL 9.x.
