Issue/Introduction

Agent install fails, and the install log has the error:

MSI (s) (2C:F8) [12:52:32:937]: Product: Bit9 Agent -- Error 1723.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run.

Environment

App Control Windows Agent: All Supported Versions

Cause

There is an interoperability issue with another AV product on the system that is preventing access to a DLL needed during the install process

Resolution

Temporarily disable all other AV products while installing the agent before re-enabling them.

Additional Information

Before creating a Support case, please collect a Procmon capture and an install log by running the installation from CMD as an Admin:

msiexec.exe /i C:\Temp\PolicyInstaller.msi /L*v C:\Temp\Install.log
