Issue/Introduction

Should I be concerned about the  ‘CAS9899E…EDC8121I Connection reset.’  messages in the CCITCP SYSOUT?

Environment

Usage of CCITCP component

Resolution

In most cases, the message shown below is normal and indicates that the PC is driving the disconnection.  With the timing of certain TCPIP functions, a line break may occur prior to notification that the action was requested. Due to this sequence of events, you may see this message.

Note that this could be the result of an older version of CCI-PC, or the result of how the application driving CCI was written.  If no end user actually reported a CA product functionality problem, the message can be ignored.
