Issue/Introduction

Occasionally during an upgrade attempt a failure will occur.  Best practice is to have snapshots in place which you can quickly restore to.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations

Resolution

Note: If you will be engaging Broadcom VCF Support for assistance with the upgrade failure, collect a full support bundle including all Aria Operations nodes prior to reverting to the snapshots. Collecting diagnostic information from VMware Aria Operations

  1. To revert a snapshot, navigate to a virtual machine in the vSphere Client inventory and click the Snapshots tab.
  2. Navigate to a snapshot in the snapshot tree, click Revert, and click the Revert button.
  3. Revert all Aria Operations VMs (including cloud proxies) to the snapshots taken prior to the upgrade attempt.
  4. Power on the VMs and bring the Aria Operations cluster online.
