When using Podman to deploy Spectrum Docker, the SpectroSERVER is not starting after the installation completes.

Issue/Introduction

When we tried to run container via podman installation finished successfully, but SpectroSERVER would not start under Spectrum 24.3.9.

All necessary libraries and requirements have been met, but Spectrum still does not start without any error messages seen in the VNM.OUT.

Environment

Spectrum 24.3.9. (Spectrum DOCKER install through Podman)

Podman - 5.4.0

Cause

We identified cap_net_raw is not included in podman by default

Resolution

Adding the cap to podmap run command (--cap-add=CAP_NET_RAW) solved the issue and the installation completes successfully with SpectroServer and Archive Manager running.
