Issue/Introduction

• Not able to log into vCenter

• Full error:

  [400] An error occurred while sending an authentication request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server- An error occurred when processing meta data during vCenter Single Sign-On setup: the service provider validation failed. Verify that the server URL is correct and is in FQDN format, or that the hostname is a trusted service provider alias.

• Unable to renew certificates due to error:

  ERROR: INVALID_KEY, the private key doesnot match the certificate. Please provide a valid certificate and Key pair.

Cause

Host FQDN DNS records not properly configured

Resolution

Ensure host FQDN can be resolved (forward and backward ) by the vCenter's configured DNS server.
