Issue/Introduction

  • The vSAN cluster was previously shut down at Site A, but the shutdown process did not complete as expected for all hosts, leaving them in a "weird state" where data transfer is not occurring and everything is inaccessible.
  • When doing a "esxcli vsan cluster get"  error message "vSAN is not enabled" on hosts
  • Network configuration is correct.
  • The current state where hosts are in a "weird state" and everything is inaccessible, indicating a failed or incomplete shutdown process.
  • Disk groups are intact

Cause

  • Hosts were entering Shutdown cluster but then Turn of vSAN was clicked
