Enhancements to the HCX Version 2 Migration UI and API Introduced in 4.11.0

Issue/Introduction

In a future HCX software release, enhancements will be made to the HCX Version 2 Migration UI and API that was introduced in HCX version 4.11.0 in order to address the following issues.

 

Issue 1)

When a low resolution browser setting is selected, the grid footer in the HCX Migration UI may not be shown which includes the pagination controls used to navigate between pages.

To workaround the issue, the user can either filter on "Name" (the funnel icon) to specify the desired sub-entity or switch to the legacy Migration UI view (See Workaround section). 

 

Issue 2)

The migration UI workflow also lists empty folders in the navigation tree. In a future HCX software release empty folders will no longer be listed in the tree.

 

Issue 3)

HCX Migration Tasks and Events may Show a 403 error:

      "Error while loading configuration"

      "Http failure response for #### 403 OK"

Issue 4)

During Mobility Group validation, the user may receive an error when a VM is powered-on but has a NIC that is in the disconnected state:

     "Not all networks are configured"

This error is related to a specific scenario where a user has exported a Distributed Virtual Switch (DVS) from vCenter and then re-imported it.

 

Resolution

All issues will be addressed through Enhancements that will be added to a future HCX software version.

Workaround

The user can switch to the legacy UI view to avoid the issues mentioned

1. Access the HCX Manager > Services > Migration > Mobility Groups
2. Click on "Switch to Legacy Display" on the right side
