Metric data is not being collected for object - Status icon shows 'No Data Receiving'

Issue/Introduction

• The status icon for the collection status is gray and shows 'No Data Receiving' when clicked
  
  
  
  
• Logs (metric data points) are not getting captured since a specific date

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The parent adapter instance for the object is not healthy.

Resolution

1. Hover the cursor over the adapter status icon and note the Parent Adapter Instance Name listed next to Instance:
   
   
2. Navigate to Administration > Integrations
3. Locate the Parent Adapter Instance identified in step 1 and hover the cursor over the Warning icon in the Status column
4. Review and correct the fault.
5. Verify the adapter instance Status changes to OK
6. Verify the current metric data is collected for the object.
   
   Note: Missing historical data points will not be collected. Metric collection will begin again from the point in time that the adapter fault was corrected.
