PSOD reported on ESXi Host with Backtrace - qlnativefcAsyncGnnid & qlnativefcGetPortName

• Prior to the PSOD the VMkernel logs shows a lot of Port Down errors

Environment

ESXi Host running version - VMware ESXi 7.0 Update 3 build-24585291

Cause

The PSOD is observed while the HBA card driver is fetching fcAsyncGnnid & fcGetPortName and crashing with a PSOD (qlnativefcAsyncGnnid & qlnativefcGetPortName) 

Broadcom Engineering has confirmed that this is a known issue with the Driver Version: 5.3.83.1

Resolution

• The Fix is available in the latest driver version - 5.3.84.0-1OEM
