Issue/Introduction

There is a problem with SEP and WSS tunnel. When activating WSS tunnel through SESC agent with saml AUTH for WSS, the authentication is successful, but the SAML icon stays in the taskbar and cannot be dismissed.

Environment

It is possible to reproduce a similar issue where the taskbar button would still remain.

These were the conditions

  • SAMLAuth window minimized while pending authentication
  • TraceView used to capture WPP logging
  • Network change that caused the authentication required to PassiveMode

SetWindowPos call to hide the window should trigger certain windows messages from the OS. The SAMLAuth window should receive the WM_WINDOWPOSCHANGING followed by WM_WINDOWPOSCHANGED. When the issue is reproduced, the logs show on WM_WINDOWPOSCHANGING was received.

Resolution

Upgrade SEP client to a fixed version SEP 16 or 14.3 RU10 MP1+
