Can't access Edge Gateway settings in VMware Cloud Director: the information is not shown

Issue/Introduction

• Any edge gateway selected in vCloud Director does not load: unable to access firewall rules, NAT, IP Sets, IP Management
• There are no active alarms or alerts relevant to the issue in NSX at the moment.
• Querying the gateway information via API shows that there are no uplinks stored in that edge gateway:
  • API call: 1.0.0/edgeGateways?page=1&pageSize=1&links=true
  • The issue is characterised by this empty list of uplinks, in the Response values section:
    • edgeGatewayUplinks: []

Environment

• VMware Cloud Director 10.5

Cause

• This can be caused by missing uplink interfaces on edge gateways in VCD
