After manual update VSAN HCL database current database file upload creation date does not change

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms : 

  • Following  manual VSAN HCL database update steps as mentioned here KB315556 all.json  file upload completes with no errors but  in  vCenter vSphere Client > vCenter  >  Configure > VSAN  > HCL database > Current database creation date  is not changing
  • In vCenter server CLI /etc/vmware-vsan-health/vsanvcg,db file timestamp is getting updated with correct date
  • After checking contents of file cat /etc/vmware-vsan-health/vsanvcg,db | jq . head key jsonUpdatedTime value is not updated
  • Downloaded all.json key jsonUpdatedTime value does not reflect most recent date

Environment

  • VSAN 8.x

Cause

  •  A web browser has cached previously downloaded all.json file 

Resolution

  • Follow web browser vendor recommendation steps to clear web browser cache 
  • Verify if key jsonUpdatedTime value in all.json reflects correct value before uploading file in vCenter vSphere Client
