Delayed Alert notification on Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

Users may observe a delay between the time a metric is collected and when an alert is triggered in Aria Operations. This behavior may raise concerns about the responsiveness of the alerting system.

For example, see the screenshot below: the uptime metric was collected at 11.18 AM but, the alert was triggered at 11.22 AM.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Resolution

This behavior is by design. In Aria Operations, metrics are collected over a 5-minute cycle and published together at the end. Alerts are evaluated only after all metrics from the adapter instance are published, not at the time of individual metric collection.
