Issue/Introduction

  • When using vCD to configure, you may see data path issues on your "external network" segment.  Reference the NSX UI to check for the conditions noted.

  • VLAN or Overlay segment is being used for a Service Interface on a T0 or T1 Logical-Router

  • Status of Service Interface is in a "Failed" state

  • When clicking the "Failed" status link, the following error message is observed:

    • [error_code=10059,module_name=ROUTING,error_message='[Routing] Transport node ########-####-####-####-############
/infra/sites/default/enforcement-points/default/edge-transport-node/########-####-####-####-############ of Edge cluster member must belong to transport zone ########-####-####-####-############ <name-of-VLAN-or-Overlay-TZ> of linked logical switch port ########-####-####-####-############.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

The Transport Zone of the NSX Segment does not match the Transport Zone assigned to the Transport Node (Edge in this case) where the Service Interface is configured therefore, the interface and segment realization will not occur.

Resolution

Two different methods below are available to resolve this issue.

  • Delete Service Interface on the T0/T1 and re-create the NSX Segment on the same Transport Zone that is configured on the Edge Transport Node where the T0/T1 is instantiated on

  • Add the NSX Segment's Transport Zone to the Edge Transport Node where the T0/T1 is instantiated on by editing the Edge Transport Node's configuration
