Salt minon not connecting to Salt master

Issue/Introduction

Minions are not responding to Salt master commands

Environment

Aria Config - all versions

Tanzu Salt - all versions

SaltProject - all versions

Cause

Assuming you have confirmed there is no networking issue (firewall, routing, etc) and you can confirm that the `nc -vz <MASTER_IP> 4506` works, then double check the minion and master versions.

Resolution

Per the documentation in https://docs.saltproject.io/salt/install-guide/en/latest/topics/upgrade.html, the Salt master should be the same or newer version as the Salt minion version.

You confirm your Salt master version with salt --versions from the CLI on the Salt master.

You can confirm the Salt minion version with salt-minion --versions on the Salt minion (Linux), or salt-minion.bat (In Powershell on Windows).
