Issue/Introduction

  • Installing Dell PowerProtect Data Manager(PPDM) tsdm vib on ESXi host fails with "Installation failed" checking from vSphere Client
  • tsdm vib is pushed to ESXi host from PPDM during host prepare
  • /var/run/log/esxupdate.log has below error message:

vmware.esximage.Errors.AcceptanceConfigError: VIB DEL_bootbank_tsdm_19.15.0.3-1OEM.703.0.0.18644231's acceptance level is accepted, which is not compliance with the ImageProfile acceptance level certified

Cause

The host image profile acceptance level is set to "VMware Certified" and would not allow DELL PPDM tsdm (with "VMware Accepted" acceptance level) to be installed.

Resolution

In order to proceed with installation, change host image acceptance level from vSphere Client:

  1. select the ESXi host from vSphere Client
  2. choose "Configure" and then "Security Profile" under "System"
  3. change "Acceptance level" from "VMware Certified" to the required Acceptance level
