When you deploy a Windows VM using an OVF template exported from a third-party virtualization platform, the operating system directly enters the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) state after booting.
8.0
Virtual machines created from third-party virtualization platforms have compatibility issues with the vSphere virtualization platform (virtual machines created from third-party platforms do not support controller types specific to the vSphere platform)
Install a virtual machine using the Windows Server 2019 ISO in the vSphere platform, then convert the virtual machine to an OVF template, and then use the template again to deploy a virtual machine
Workaround: After the virtual machine is deployed, do not power it on yet, edit the configuration: change the SCSI controller type from VMware Paravirtual to LSI Logic SAS
Because BSOD is a blue screen of the Windows system, we can extract the memory dump of the Windows virtual machine from the vSphere platform. We recommend that customers contact Microsoft and ask them to do further analysis through the memory dump of the Windows system.
