Issue/Introduction

Issue/Problem/Symptoms:

In DSM Explorer, when checking the status of a Scalability Server under "Control Panel -> Scalability Servers", the status of its 'Boot Server State' appears as "Not Responding".

Looking at "TRC_CSMAGENT", the following ERROR can be seen:

|ERROR | # LoadXmlFile(): *** Document 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\Agent\CCSM\states.xml' is not well formed! ***
|ERROR | # LoadConfig() ### Error 40 loading state list 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\DSM\Agent\CCSM\states.xml' ###

Environment:

Client Automation - All versions.

Cause:

XML file in the Scalability Server called 'states.xml' is corrupted.

Resolution/Workaround:

1. Go to the Scalability Server and stop CAF services.
2. Navigate to '..CA\DSM\Agent\CCSM' and rename 'states.xml' to something else.
3. Go to any other working Scalability Server and take a copy of 'states.xml' file and paste it in the same folder from the previous step
4. Once this is done, start CAF services in the Scalability Server with the problem, and verify the issue again.
