The following alert is triggered via vSAN Health Service for a vSAN Cluster after it was brought up from being shutdown:
Stats Primary election
The following symptoms are observed:
vSAN Performance Service is disabled and unable to start.
While CMMDS Primary has been elected, Stats Primary could not be elected.
.vsan.stats directories.vSAN 7.x
vSAN 8.x
The issue can come up after a Cluster merge or Maintenance activities.
Browse the vSAN datastore, select the .vsan.stats directories appended with -1, -2 etc., and delete.
SSH to all the hosts in the vSAN cluster and run the following command to restart the vSAN Management service:
/etc/init.d/vsanmgmtd restart
