VCF Operations/Automation (formerly VMware Aria Suite)

Issue/Introduction

  • Added VCF 8 license as per Add Licenses document to all vCenters but found that the usage in Aria Operations under Subscriptions > License Management shows 0
  • The usage amount in each vCenter is correct when navigating to  Administration > Licensing > Licenses
  • The vCenter adapter user was assigned a role with Global.Licenses privilege and is also a member of the LicenseService.Administrators Single Sign-On group as per the documentation Managing Licenses
  • Checking the role usage in vCenter under Administration > Roles > selecting the role created > Usage, the user used to configure adapter instance shows. Indicating that the role is assigned correctly to that user, but when checking the permissions for the user in vCenter under Inventory > select the appropriate vCenter > Permissions another role with the incorrect privileges is assigned to the user.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

vCenter 8.x
