Issue/Introduction

Login to Operator Console fails.

The page is accessible at http://(OC IP)/operatorconsole_portlet/ but after logging in, the page redirects to /standalone_login.jsp and the message is displayed:

This user's ACL does not have the required permission to access this portlet.

According to KB122175 this is caused by a missing "Operator Console Basic" ACL, however in this case the "Operator Console Basic" ACL is present and enabled for the user.

The hub.log has the following message repeated over and over:

hub: verify - SID has invalid signature

Environment

DX UIM 23.4.x

Operator Console installed on Primary Hub

Resolution

In Infrastructure Manager, deactivate the wasp probe on the robot where Operator Console is hosted.

Right-click the wasp probe and choose Security->Validate from the menu.

When prompted to activate the probe, choose Yes.

After activation the login should now succeed and the hub error message will no longer appear.

Additional Information

Note: Broadcom does not recommend running the Operator Console on the same robot as the primary hub except in very small environments for demonstration or proof-of-concepts.  See the installation documentation for more details.
