As documented in the VCF 9.0 release notes (VCF 9.0 Release notes - NSX) VMware by Broadcom has changed the entitlement of the built-in NSX Load Balancer (NSX-T Load Balancer) from VCF 9.0 onwards.
General purpose load balancing features are no longer part of the VCF entitlement and Broadcom recommends customers purchase NSX Advanced Load Balancer (Avi Load Balancer). The NSX Advanced Load Balancer provides a superset of the NSX load balancing functionality including GSLB, advanced analytics, container ingress, application security, and WAF. For assistance migrating from the NSX Load Balancer to NSX Advanced Load Balancer please contact your VMware by Broadcom representative.
Customers are still entitled to the following use cases with the NSX Load Balancer from VCF 9.0 onwards.
VMware NSX
VMware NSX-T Data Center
VMware VCF
Customers running VMware NSX 4.X or VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.X entitlements are not impacted and the load balancer can be used for all traffic types (3rd party workloads and infrastructure), until EOL for the respective release as per the Product Lifecycle.
