CA Service Management - Service Desk Manager CA Service Desk Manager

Issue/Introduction

It has been determined tenancy is no longer needed in an environment where it is configured, how does Service Desk Manager behave after the change?

What will be different?

Environment

All Service Desk Manager environments

Resolution

The following can be expected, but keep in mind this is not necessarily an exhaustive list:

  • Data from all tenants will be visible to all other tenants.

  • Users with the Administrator Role will see all tickets, but roles like the Employee role will only see data for the assigned tenant.

  • For Data Objects that have a required Tenant like CR and CHG categories and contacts, removing tenancy will not make changes to the underlying database tables and the Tenant column will persist and stay populated with the Tenant ID.

  • The Service Desk Manager product will simply no longer consider the tenant data.

Additional Information

we recommend testing this change in a similar non production environment first.
