System usage has breached the capacity for Network Rule Count in Aria Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms: 

• In Infrastructure and Support tab, the alert "System usage has breached the capacity" for the Network Rule Count parameter as the limit of 170k was breached as the usage is 299.65K.

• The setup is a single node platform.

 

Environment

Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.1
Aria Operations for Networks 6.13.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.14.0

Cause

The Network Rule Count parameter limit is breached.

Resolution

The above issue is seen in UI and the following workaround can be applied to resolve the issue:

• The issue can be resolved by first scaling out the environment from a single node to a cluster. This scale-out will increase the system’s capacity, thereby eliminating the "network rule breaching" alerts.

  • For instructions on how to scale out to a cluster, refer to the official guide:
    Creating a Cluster – Aria Operations for Networks 6.14
• Once the cluster is created, the next step should be to click on "Reconfigure" button as shown in below screenshot which can be found at UI>Settings>Infrastructure and Support. The reconfiguration process lasts 15-20 minutes (progress bar will be available to track the completion), a few services will be restarted, and the UI will be not be accessible for the other users.
