Issue/Introduction

When attempting to register the plugin in VMware Cloud Director (VCD), an "ERROR 406 - response with status 'not acceptable for url'" occurs. Additionally, when users attempt to access the tenant plugin, the following error is displayed: "You don't have access to any tenant page."

Environment

  • VMware Aria Operations 8.x
  • VMware vCloud Director 10.x

Resolution

To resolve these errors, perform the following configuration checks and updates:

  1. Verify Interoperability: Ensure you are using the correct version of the VMware Cloud Director management pack for your version of VCD by consulting the Product Interoperability Matrix.
  2. Configure System Access URL: Confirm the system access URL is correctly added in the VMware Aria Operations UI, navigate to Administration > Global Settings > System Settings > System Access URL.
  3. Re-register the Plugin: If accessing the plugin from VCD tenants fails with the error "The tenantId of credential is not matching with the tenantId from session validation response," follow the re-registration steps outlined in the Register VMware Aria Operations in a VMware Cloud Director Instance.
  4. Publish the Plugin: Log in to the VCD Provider UI and navigate to More > Customize Portal. Ensure the plugin is published for the specific tenant.
  5. Enable Management Pages: In the VMware Aria Operations UI, navigate to Administration > Control Panel > Chargeback > Manage Pages and verify that the required pages are enabled.
