Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

  • Attempts to enable an array pair within Site Recovery Manager (SRM) fail. While network connectivity to the storage array is confirmed (ping to storage IP successful), the following error is encountered during array pair configuration:

Error:
Array pair '<source-array>:<target-array>' not found at site '<DR-Site>'

  • Recent changes to the environment include:
    • Replacement of the primary (DC) site storage system due to end-of-support status.
    • Upgrade of the Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) appliance.

  • Additional observations:
    • Local and Remote Array Managers were successfully edited.
    • Array Manager discovery completed successfully.
    • Despite successful discovery, enabling the array pair fails with the same error.

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0

Cause

This issue is caused by leftover or misconfigured SVM (Storage Virtual Machine) objects from the previously decommissioned storage system. These residual entries cause a mismatch in expected SVM naming between the source and target arrays.

As a result, Site Recovery Manager is unable to identify the correct array pair, and the operation to enable replication between the arrays fails.

Resolution

Engage SRA vendor to resolve the issue.

  • Review and remove any stale or misconfigured SVM entries on both the source and target storage systems.
  • Verify SVM naming consistency across sites to ensure the correct identifiers are used and recognized.
  • Confirm clean-up of deprecated configurations from the previous storage setup.
  • After addressing the inconsistencies, re-attempt array pair enablement in Site Recovery Manager.
