Issue/Introduction

Migration Xpress can be used to migration content from either a Virtual Appliance (VAPP) or a non-vapp standalone deployment into a newly deployed Virtual Appliance.   


Where is the download for Migration Xpress and how to install it?

Resolution

The Migration Tool can be found in the Symantec IGA Virtual Appliance Remote Tools r14.5 zip on the Support Portal



It can be placed anywhere you have rights too, in the following example it was placed in /opt/CA/VirtualAppliance/migration/ 

Migration Express needs rights to execute and write to its folders.
Grant the files execute permissions:

chmod -R 777 /opt/CA/VirtualAppliance/migration/migration-xpress-14.5.0 

 
Then start the tool with the mx_ui.sh in the /bin/ folder:

:/opt/CA/VirtualAppliance/migration/migration-xpress-14.5.0/bin > ./mx_ui.sh 

Then connect via a browser to https://MX_host:8143, where MX_host is the machine Migration XPress is deployed on. 

Login with the credentials set during startup, in this example 'imuser'
