User is receiving error message with Easytrieve r11.6
EZTC0652E >>>$ line overflow by 2 columns
Environment:
Easytrieve upgrade difference from Easytrieve r6.4, to Easytrieve r11.6.
Cause:
PAGE-COUNT changed between Easytrieve 6.4 and Easytrieve 11.x from 2 B to 4 I, so the new length of PAGE-COUNT is now 10 Digits in display format.
Workaround:
Alternatively, the new R11.6 field of PAGE-NUMBER may be used, this is defined a 4 P,
so it will occupy only 6 digits. However, this is still 1 digit longer than
the 2 B PAGE-COUNT in 6.4.
Additional Information:
For most applications, the solutions are to either shift the start position of PAGE-COUNT back columns or substitute it with PAGE-NUMBER.
So the real cause is the increased length of this system defined field.
