Issue/Introduction

• When registering the NSX Autonomous Edge on VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA) On-Premises site, as part of the L2 Stretch configuration, it fails with the following error:
  
  "The given VLAN-trunk network for the NSX Autonomous Edge must be a vlan trunk portgroup with forged transmits and promiscuous mode enabled." 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.3

Cause

The on-premises virtual machines run on a standard switch.

Resolution

When using NSX Autonomous Edge for the L2 stretch, the on-premises virtual machines can only run on VLAN-based networks of distributed switches, that is, distributed port groups.
