Operating system installation fails for ProLinux, Kylin Linux, FusionOS, or Pardus on vSphere 9.0.0.0

Issue/Introduction

• When installing ProLinux, Kylin Linux, FusionOS, or Pardus in a virtual machine created through vCenter UI or ESXi Host Client UI, operating system installation will fail.
• Virtual machine is created with hardware version 22 and default configuration

Environment

VMware ESXi 9.0.0.0

Cause

The default configuration in vCenter UI and ESXi Host Client UI enables Secure Boot which is not compatible with ProLinux, Kylin Linux, FusionOS, or Pardus installations.

Resolution

When creating a virtual machine with EFI boot for ProLinux, Kylin Linux, FusionOS, or Pardus via vCenter UI or ESXi Host Client UI, ensure that the Secure Boot option is unchecked before proceeding with the installation.
