vSAN tab under Cluster > Configure > Services shows option to resume shutdown operation stuck with below error:
This shows up after originally the shutdown wizard was used to shutdown the vSAN cluster but due to some issue, it was shutdown manually.
All the objects in vSAN are healthy.
vSAN otherwise is working fine without any issues.
VMware vSAN 7.x
VMware vSAN 8.x
When shutting down the vSAN cluster using the shutdown wizard, if for some reason the operation is stuck and could not complete, the shutdown operation/task will be in this stuck state even after we shut down the vSAN nodes manually and bring them all back up.
Because the shutdown of the cluster was initiated using the wizard but due to a fault, the task was stuck, the operation will keep showing the option to resume the task.
In order to fix this issue, restart the vSAN health service on the vCenter Server using the below commands:
service-control --stop vmware-vsan-health
service-control --start vmware-vsan-health
After restarting the service, reload the vCenter and the services tab should now show the correct details.
