NetMaster SSI STC abend N-S79-61 in NM000S79 at startup

Issue/Introduction

NetMaster SSI region abended during startup with the following error:

It could be successfully started manually afterwards.

NetMaster 12.2
Solve:Operation Automation 11.9 (already at End-Of-Life)

Cause

The abend is due to a timing problem when issuing an ATTACH command to attach a non-VTAM terminal while SSI initialization was not completed yet.

Resolution

Use a CMD action in the SSI startup parameter file to ATTACH the terminals at startup. 

eg. CMD='ATTACH 901 AUTOLOG=YES' 

When this is done, the attach is issued as soon as initialization is complete:

.OPER    .OPER     NS1001 NMSSI SUBSYSTEM INITIALIZATION COMPLETE. SSID: xxxx 8.1.03                  
.SLOG    .SLOG    +ATTACH 901 AUTOLOG=YES

Additional Information

Non-VTAM terminals are no longer supported with NetMaster 13.0 and above
