Issue/Introduction

After manually editing the masking configuration CSV file used by FDM, to mask Excel Spreadsheets, we see the following error, when trying to load the masking configuration:

'File <path for defenition file>/.dm.txt not found'

We have verified the definition file exists in the specified patch, and the account running FDM has full permissions to the file. So why can't FDM find the definition file?

Cause

 In the masking CSV file, we use the Table column as a reference to the Excel file's definition file. When this reference is missing, we will see the error -  'File <path for defenition file>/.dm.txt not found'.

Resolution

To resolve this, edit the masking CSV file and add the definition file name for each row under the Table column. You should be able to load the masking configuration once the DM file name has been added.

Additional Information

Engineering found some broken dependencies related to masking EXCEL files in FDM, which they have fixed in FDM-4.11.182.0. However, this wasn't the cause of this particular problem.
