Traps being sent to Spectrum Trap Director are being sent to devices in other landscapes with the same IP Address.

Issue/Introduction

We have three different devices that are using the same ip address, but they are modeled on 3 different SpectroSERVER landscapes.

All seems to work correctly, except when a trap is being sent from one of those devices, it is being sent to all 3 devices.

Spectrum Trap Director

Cause

Trap Director will send the traps to the devices based upon ip address.  If the same ip address is being used on 3 different landscapes, Trap Director will deliver the same trap to all three devices.

Resolution

When using overlapping ip addresses we recommend to make use of Secure Domain Controller (SDC) with Secure Domain Manager (SDM).
