Issue/Introduction

  • When you login and logout from the vSphere Client, you are unable to see the Tasks/events in dd/mm/yyyy format.
  • After setting the browser and system to dd/mm/yyyy format and vSphere Client UI preference selected to browser default the format is not correct.

Environment

vCenter Server 7.0.x
vCenter Server 8.0.x

Resolution

This is a known issue in vCenter Server 8.x / 7.x releases and currently there is no resolution. Broadcom engineering is working towards fixing this issue in a future release.

Workaround

Note: This change is not persistent reverts to mm/dd/yyyy after a session timeout or upon logging.

  • Navigate to My Preferences > Language, select Specify Language, and reload the page.
  • Then go back to My Preferences > Language and select Browser Default
  • Reload the page, the date format updates correctly to dd/mm/yyyy.
