HCX Migration Tasks and Events Show 403 ERROR: "Error while loading configuration"

Issue/Introduction

• When a login to HCX Manager is done with an Enterprise Administrator role and attempts to view migration tasks and events, the following error is seen:
  

  Error while loading configuration, with "Http failure response for #### 403 OK"

  
• You may see the following error in /common/logs/admin/web.log:

  <timestamp> UTC [https-jsse-nio-8443-exec-6, Ent: DEFAULT, , TxId: TxId: ########-####-####-####-############] INFO  c.v.v.h.authorization.CustomVoter- ACCESS_DENIED for URL /hybridity/api/v2/mobility-groups/########-####-####-####-############, Expected roles: [System Administrator], Roles from session: [Enterprise Administrator]. Environment

HCX 4.11.0

Cause

This error occurs due to a permission mismatch in the new Migration Dashboard introduced in HCX version 4.11.0.

Resolution

This is a known issue impacting VMware HCX

 

Workaround

Switch the Migration UI to Legacy view.

1. Access the HCX Manager > Services > Migration > Mobility Groups
2. Click on "Switch to Legacy Display" on the right side
