Unexpected server error after upgrading the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to 14.3 RU9

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to 14.3 RU9 the following error messages are displayed in the Admin > Servers tab, of the console:

Remote file CRL.pem download started. [Site: XXX] [Server: XXX]
Remote file CRL.pem download failed. [Site: XXX] [Server: XXX]
Unexpected server error. [Site: XXX] [Server: XXX]
Remote file smartCard.pem download started. [Site: XXX] [Server: XXX]
Remote file smartCard.pem download failed. [Site: XXX] [Server: XXX]
Unexpected server error. [Site: XXX] [Server: XXX]

Smart card authentication is enabled and configured.

Environment

SEPM 14.3 RU9

Cause

SEPM still reaches out to remote server for certificate files when the other site is not a replication partner or is already suspended.

Resolution

This is a known issue, fixed in SEPM 14.3 RU10.

If upgrading to SEPM 14.3 RU10 is not feasible, please contact Technical Support for a workaround.
