Issue/Introduction

  • Unable to add ESXi host to VDS
  • The lag created/configured with duplicate names.
  •  VDS might report "out of sync" for the ESXi hosts.
  • On var/log/vmkwarning.log you see similar to:

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0.X
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.X

Cause

This issue/error can occur due to some stale entries on VDS and the lag creation/configuration with duplicate names.

Resolution

Create a new VDS with the same set up as the existing VDS and add the host to new VDS.
