NSX Manager may display an alarm indicating that the NSX Application Platform (NAPP) is disconnected, even though NAPP is not installed or has been previously uninstalled.
NAPP 4.2.0.0
This issue can occur due to outdated or incorrect nameserver IPs present in the system configuration. These stale DNS entries can result in false alarm generation during operations such as upgrades or health checks.
1. SSH into all the NSX Manager nodes using root credentials.
2. Check the DNS configuration file using:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
3. Review the nameserver entries and update them to valid, reachable DNS IP addresses by editing the file:
vi /etc/resolv.conf
4. Save the file and exit.
No NAPP-related services or plugins need to be present for this alarm to occur.
Ensuring that valid DNS servers are configured will prevent the alarm from reappearing.
