Issue/Introduction

Following Alert is triggered on the ESXi host: "Unable to apply DRS resource settings on host. This can significantly reduce the effectiveness of DRS."

Cause

This is due to the unhealthy vSphere Cluster Services.

Resolution

  • Cleanup the vCLS VM by running Retreat Mode.
  • Follow the below steps to Re-Enable vCLS Mode on a cluster,
    • Cluster > Configure > vSphere Cluster Services > General > vCLS Mode > EDIT VCLS MODE > System Managed
