Issue/Introduction

When attempting to register a vCenter Server for the Aria Operations plugin through the Aria Operations UI, the registration fails with the following error: "Extension with key already exists for the vCenter."

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x
vCenter Server 7.x
vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

This issue typically occurs if a previous registration entry for the plugin already exists in the vCenter inventory, leading to a conflict during re-registration.

Resolution

Option 1:
Unregister the vCenter Server plugin from the Aria Operations UI. Reference How to Integrate Aria operation plugin with vCenter using Aria operations UI (338384)

Option 2:
Remove the plugin from the vCenter Server MOB. Reference How to Integrate Aria operation plugin with vCenter using Aria operations UI (338384)
