You may notice that changes made to the Anti-Spam policy—specifically to the "Newsletter / Marketing Detection" action—do not take effect as expected.
Example:
You modify the setting from "Quarantine the email" to "Tag the subject line but allow mail through", but emails continue to be quarantined despite the update.
This typically occurs when domain-specific settings override global configurations.
By default, Anti-Spam settings can be applied at either the Global level or at a Custom (domain-specific) level. If a domain is configured to Use Customer Settings, any changes made at the Global level will not apply to that domain.
Navigate to Anti-Spam settings.
In the top-right corner, use the drop-down menu to select the affected domain.
Check the current configuration:
If "Use customer settings" is selected, then domain-specific (Custom) settings are active.
If "Use global settings" is selected, then the global policy is applied to the domain.
You have two options:
Option 1: If you want to enforce the global policy:
Toggle the domain setting to “Use Global Settings”.
Option 2: If you prefer to keep domain-specific settings:
Make the necessary Anti-Spam changes directly under Custom Settings for that domain.
If your updates to Newsletter / Marketing Detection aren't being applied, it's likely due to domain-level custom settings overriding global policies. Check the domain configuration and adjust the settings accordingly.
